Here at Claydon Lodge we offer services for Dementia Care, Permanent Care, Respite Care, Emergency Care and Day Care

Our trained staff are there to provide service users with any level of assistance they may require. This includes Residential and Specialist Dementia Care.

The home is committed to providing excellent Residential and Dementia Care, and is always looking to implement the dementia strategy further. Over recent months, the home has made improvements to the dementia friendly environment, as well as the refurbishment of all lounge areas. We endeavour to provide a safe, warm and friendly environment, where our service users are free to follow an individual and fulfilling lifestyle, as if they were in their own home.

Our service users are encouraged to contribute to and have access to their own plan of care.

Our Services

Claydon Lodge Care Home is a multi-award winning home, where we offer Dementia Care, Permanent Care, Respite Care, Emergency Care and Day Care.

It's important that you understand the type of care you need before you make the step of choosing a care home that is right for you. Dementia Care

Suitable for those with a diagnosis of Dementia, where we can deliver person centred care specific to the individual, in a safe and secure environment.

Permanent Care

Suited for those who have been assessed for 24 hour residential care. This may be if someone requires minimal assistance from care staff, up to full assistance with all care needs.

Respite Care / Emergency Care

This may be for a few days, a holiday or on a rolling respite basis. This may be a break or to try out the home prior to long term care. Any emergency admission will be in line with the homes policy and at the Managers discretion.

Day Care

This is from 9.00am until 6.00pm. You can visit and have your meals, along with joining in with the days planned activities. A bath or shower can also be offered and this is optional. Any admission to the home, would require the homes staff to conduct a pre -admission assessment prior to a place being confirmed.

What are the charges?

Information on our charges can be obtained by calling our Manager on 01246 852435. Low income is not a bar to becoming a resident and depending upon your own circumstances you may be able to claim Housing Benefit towards the cost of our charges. The level of any savings that you have may affect the benefits that you can claim. The Citizens' Advice Bureaux or your local Benefits office will be able to give you more advice regarding this.

Do you discriminate?

We aim to offer equal and fair access to all eligible people, regardless of gender, family or financial circumstances, race, colour, religion, or sexual orientation. We aim to respond to individual need, whilst promoting diversity, respect and spiritual care.

Cooking is a real chore and I need a special diet. Can you help?

Food is always an area of interest to residents and their relatives. It should not be a concern to either. Claydon Lodge Care Home has a fully equipped kitchen and its fully trained and highly skilled cooks prepare fresh home cooked meals ensuring a balanced and varied diet. Residents who have additional dietary requirements such as diabetes or low sodium can have meals prepared to their requirements.

Is smoking allowed?

Claydon Lodge Care Home has a "No Smoking" policy for the comfort of residents. Smoking is only permitted outside or in designated areas.

Are there any restrictions that affect me?

Restrictions are kept to a minimum and you have the freedom to choose your own lifestyle, so long as this does not infringe on the rights of others. Our philosophy is to make our Home as flexible as possible. There are no set times for getting up and going to bed. Some residents like to rise early, others prefer a lie in.

Can I retain links with local community?

Yes. Because you are living in a Care Home it doesn't mean that you have to spend all your time here. We want you to carry on your lifestyle as if you are living in your own home. If you need any help let us know.

Mum recently had a months respite here. Staff very friendly and welcoming, it was nice that all staff from cleaners to carer's came up and chatted freely. This is testament to Michaela the manager, that there's staff inclusitivity with residents. Communication was good. At Claydon Lodge we have a dedicated team of carers who are trained to provide dementia care that enhances quality of life.

24 hour care is provided by trained and competent staff consisting of Carers, Senior Carers, Domestic and Kitchen Staff, Activities Staff, Maintenance, all of whom managed by Mrs. Michaela Whitehall, Registered Manager.
